PRODRONE Develops a Foldable Contra 8 Rotor Basic Plartform

Nagoya-JAPAN, May 1, 2018- PRODRONE is thrilled to announce it has developed the PD8X, a Foldable Contra 8 Rotor Basic Plartform. PRODRONE showcases the new model at its booth at Xponential 2018, to be held May 1-3, 2018 in Denver.

It is a new platform machine of PRODRONE born by facing customer’s requests such as improvement of transportability, ease of maintenance, easy handling of flight. “PD8X” is a compact yet highly efficient aircraft that retains the performance of conventional platform machines by having the rotors in a double and folding the arms.

PD8X has four sensors and parachutes as standard equipment. Stereo camera and sonar in front side provides collision avoidance support, and a laser and optical flow sensor on the bottom enable to achieve vision positioning (self position detection). In addition, all sensors are modularized accordingly and functions can be easily added.

PD8X” is the best choice for mounting such as small laser surveying instruments or camera/gimbal payloads. As for specific product
