First flight! Demonstration experiment aimed at introducing drone inspection at Narita Airport

Situation of the experiment on the day

Prodrone Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Shunsuke Toya), in cooperation with Narita International Airport Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Akihiko Tamura), completed the application procedures to the national government, etc., and on September 25, 2024, conducted a Level II*2 drone flight within an airport for the first time as an airport subject to the Act on the Prohibition of Flights of Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles*1. Currently, while aviation demand and equipment are expanding, issues such as a shortage of human resources, efficiency in operation and maintenance, and labor savings are emerging. Therefore, this demonstration experiment was conducted with the aim of performing maintenance and inspection inside airports more efficiently and safely, with the premise that aviation demand will further expand in the future. PRODRONE will continue to work to ensure that drone inspections can be used safely and securely.
