Conducted test flight of PD4-BL (with laser surveying device)

On August 25, 2015, we conducted a test flight and test survey of PD4-BL (with laser surveying device) at Ichinomiya Heliflyers Airfield in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture. This flight, the world's first for a multicopter equipped with RIEGL's compact laser scanner "VUX-1" and achieving the world's best measurement viewing angle (327°), was led by Assistant Professor Takeki Izumi of Tokyo Metropolitan University. , Riegle Japan Co., Ltd., Nakanihon Air Co., Ltd., Nikon Trimble Co., Ltd., and Prodrone Co., Ltd. gathered together, held meetings, conducted indoor tests, and were able to reach this day with the cooperation of many people. Although there were concerns about the weather being affected by Typhoon No. 15, the flight was conducted under favorable conditions with wind speeds of less than 1m/s. Mr. Kamiya of Quest Corporation, who also participates in the radio-controlled helicopter F3C Japan Championship, came to the flyer. As for their impressions of the aircraft, we received the following comment: ``The aircraft is very stable.I thought it would be insensitive since it is a large aircraft, but I was surprised at how easily and easily it flew.'' The data obtained on this day is currently being analyzed.
