Demonstration experiment for pharmaceutical transportation conducted in Kohoku Ward, Yokohama City

ProDrone Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO: Shunsuke Totani, hereinafter referred to as PRODRONE), a major logistics company and its group companies, and Wakaba Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Nobuyasu Sugimoto, hereinafter referred to as Wakaba) jointly conducted a "demonstration experiment of using drones to transport pharmaceuticals during disasters" on November 22, 2023 in Kohoku Ward, Kanagawa Prefecture. This demonstration aims at the future social implementation of pharmaceutical transportation in the event of a disaster in a densely populated area. PRODRONE has repeatedly conducted demonstration experiments on pharmaceutical delivery on remote islands and mountainous areas, and this time it conducted a demonstration experiment on pharmaceutical delivery in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, which is close to a densely populated area. In this demonstration experiment, we delivered medicines that require temperature control and medicines that do not require temperature control. When it is implemented in society in the future, it is planned to be stored in a special container and used as one of the normal transportation modes for delivery to elderly care facilities. In the future, we aim to develop specialized transport containers tailored to the quantity of goods and to implement delivery to nursing care facilities using drones.
