Kobe Toyopet and PRODRONE announce new form of disaster infrastructure

Toyota “MIRAI” and professional drone “PD6B-Type3”

Kobe Toyopet Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Kimihide Nishimura) and Prodrone Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Toya) Shunsuke) exhibited Toyota's fuel cell vehicle "MIRAI" and Prodrone's "PD6B-Type3" at the "International Frontier Industry Messe 2022" held at the Kobe International Exhibition Center from September 1st (Thursday) to September 2nd (Friday), and announced a project (hereinafter referred to as "this project") in which both companies will cooperate with the aim of building new infrastructure. ■Presentation Overview “MIRAI” x “Wireless Base Station Drone” This project aims to provide support during disasters using drones that utilize the power source of “MIRAI”. In the event of a disaster, there are concerns that residents, including those in need of rescue, may become isolated due to power outages and other factors that may cause mobile base stations to be out of range. Therefore, we are planning a project to use the ``MIRAI'' that Kobe Toyopet owns as a test vehicle and exhibition vehicle as a power source, equip a professional drone ``PD6B-Type 3'' with a wireless base station, and raise it above the store. By connecting ``MIRAI'' and a base station drone via wire, we aim to cover the communication area around the store for a long time.
