From a 200km/h racing drone to a drone carrying a 40kg plastic tank!
~Two days of futuristic drones flying over Toyota City~

“DRONE EXPO 2022 in Aichi” demonstration at Toyota City Fire Department headquarters in the rain

Prodrone Co., Ltd. hosted "DRONE EXPO 2022 in Aichi (hereinafter referred to as this EXPO)" for two days, July 5th and 6th, at Fujioka Heliport in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, with the slogan "Japan's first, this is the near future where drones will fly around."
At the opening, Hiroki Ito, a six-time world champion in the FAI/F3C RC helicopter, and Shinya Kunii, a company employee who served as the leader of the Japanese team at the 2019 FAI/F3C World Championship, performed an acrobatic rendezvous flight, exciting the audience.
Drones are expected to become infrastructure of the near future in mountainous areas and remote islands under the Digital Garden City Nation concept, and their utilization has also been pointed out as important from the perspective of building national resilience to create a "strong and flexible Japan." Our company aims to develop drones that help solve these social and regional issues, and this time we took an early look at a ``drone-based society'' through demonstrations that simulated three scenarios: disasters, monitoring and inspection, and logistics. We were also able to see a variety of drones and their use cases, such as a demonstration of a rescue operation by the Toyota City Fire Department using a mountain rescue drone despite heavy rain at times, and the flight of a large helicopter-type drone that can fly in environments with wind speeds of 30 m/s.[Status of this EXPO]

1. Toyota City Fire Department HeadquartersA drone rescue vehicle appeared with its siren blaring, and conducted training assuming rescue of people lost in the mountains. The drone conducted a search while looking at images from a camera mounted on the drone, dropped a whistle on the person in distress, allowed the person in distress to blow it themselves to inform the ground search team of their location, and by hovering in the sky indicated the location of the person in need of rescue. Mr. Takayuki Hirose of the Police Defense and Emergency Department explained that the system is also used to assess the situation at fire scenes and for maritime rescue. 2. Comfortable Space FC Co., Ltd.Shotaro Ohno took the stage. We held a demonstration of drone surveying, which is rapidly increasing these days. He explained that laser surveying uses 750,000 laser beams per second to accurately capture the terrain, even in dense forests.While conventional helicopters fly at high altitudes and high speeds, drones can fly at low altitudes and low speeds, collecting high-density data and performing accurate surveys in a short amount of time.
Since it is possible to fly in some rainy weather and at night, it is possible to further shorten the number of days required for surveying. In addition, with the aim of saving lives within 72 hours after a disaster occurs, its uses are expanding, such as quickly and accurately identifying damage and understanding the ground conditions to prevent secondary disasters. 3. Qol Holdings Co., Ltd.Hiroyuki Kashio, Manager of Qol Holdings Co., Ltd.'s DX/AI Promotion Office, gave an explanation. In order to realize the ``Digital Garden City Nation Concept'' and to eliminate the ``inconvenience'', ``disadvantage'', and ``anxiety'' that medical resources do not reach in rural areas such as mountainous areas and remote islands, Qol Holdings is preparing for the upcoming drone delivery revolution by conducting demonstrations of the development of medical drone delivery for both normal and emergency disaster situations.
In the demonstration, a medical product transport box developed by Toppan Forms Co., Ltd. that can control temperature and location information was loaded with a 20kg weight and then flown. He explained that the PD6B-Type3 is ideal for transporting heavy oral rehydration solutions and energy drinks. (PD6B-Type3)

4. Functional introduction for early realization of social implementationPRODRONE Development Manager Masato Ito explained that PRODRONE is developing functions to lower the risk level based on the DO 178C's Design Assurance Level, which is stipulated in five stages such as "RiskA, which causes an immediate crash if it fails," and "RiskE, which has no impact at all."
The aircraft developed by Prodrone is equipped with multiple microcomputer units, which usually perform different tasks. When the main microcomputer unit malfunctions, other microcomputers detect the malfunction and take over the function, creating a fail-safe system that prevents catastrophic malfunctions. It is currently in the final stages of development, and they announced that they aim to implement it by the end of the year.

5. PDH-GS120 capable of long-distance flightTwo aircraft, one for surveillance and one for logistics, were flown at the same time. Tetsuya Nagasawa, manager of PRODRONE's product department, took to the podium and stated that the long flight time, long distance flight, and wind resistance are the major advantages, and explained that it is suitable for maritime surveillance and logistics between remote islands. Blood packs and emergency medical kits were taken out of the two cargo bags on the left and right of the logistics aircraft, and the capacity was shown.

6. Heavy goods transport drone and PD4-AW-AQCTO Kiyoichi Sugaki demonstrated a 12-winged aircraft that is under development and can carry loads of over 40kg. This is an aircraft that PRODRONE is very passionate about, as they aim to create an aircraft that can carry a 50kg load and travel 50km in the future. We picked it up, moved it, released the cargo, returned to the starting point, and landed.
Next, we flew the all-weather drone PD4-AW-AQ. After taking off and demonstrating high flight performance and movement speed, it landed in a pool, and the camera sent clear images. Customers who saw the flight received high praise for the stability of the flight.

7. Nagoya Railway Co., Ltd.Nagoya Railway Co., Ltd. and Prodrone Co., Ltd. have entered into a business partnership agreement with the aim of contributing to society by building safe and secure "air infrastructure."
As part of the key theme of the Meitetsu Group's medium-term management plan, "Turn-Over2023 - Toward a Reversal of the Offensive," Nagoya Railway is promoting "initiatives in the drone and spatial information business" as part of the key theme of "Reviewing the revenue structure by strengthening profitability in fields that are expected to grow in the future."In addition to developing a drone school business, we are also making use of our local network and working towards the commercialization of drone services that will contribute to solving regional issues.
Up until now, we have conducted repeated demonstration experiments for railway network inspections and disaster logistics. Based on this business partnership agreement, both parties will continue to develop various services and contribute to the local community, with the theme of "making drones a safe and secure 'air infrastructure'."
