Information on the opening of PRODRONE Fukushima Robot Test Field Research Center

PRODRONE Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as PRODRONE) opened the Fukushima Robot Test Field Research Center on September 3rd within the Fukushima Robot Test Field (hereinafter referred to as the Field) in order to carry out practical demonstration experiments of long-distance logistics drones and passenger drones. The field has Japan's largest airspace (13km of land and sea flight courses) and runways, making it possible to recreate the actual operating environment.The research center plans to conduct beyond visual line of sight flights, long-distance and long-distance flight durability tests, as well as various flight tests for new aircraft. Going forward, ProDrone will collect necessary data regarding stable flight and actual operation through demonstration experiments in the same field, with the aim of early commercialization of long-distance logistics drones and passenger drones.

"Fukushima Robot Test Field" is a major research and development base where research and development, demonstration tests, performance evaluations, and operation training can be conducted while reproducing the actual usage environment at the base, mainly targeting land, sea, and air field robots that are expected to be used in logistics, infrastructure inspections, large-scale disasters, etc. The field is mainly maintained by Fukushima Prefecture and has a site area of ​​approximately 50 hectares. We have established an ``Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Area'', ``Infrastructure Inspection/Disaster Response Area'', ``Underwater/Floating Robot Area'', and ``Development Infrastructure Area'', and are scheduled to fully open at the end of 2019.
