Presentation and mock-up exhibition at Ukraine Landmine Countermeasures Conference

Prodrone Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President and CEO: Shunsuke Toya, hereinafter Prodrone) announced the progress of its green industry recovery project, which received support from UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), at the "Ukraine Mine Action Conference 2025" held in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Shusaku Takeshima, executive officer of Prodrone, took the stage and also displayed a mock-up of a landmine detector made by Ukraine's Island Systems. The plenary conference (UMAC) has previously been held in Croatia in 2023 and Switzerland in 2024, and this time it will be held in Tokyo (venue: Tokyo Prince Hotel) for the third time. Representatives from 68 countries, regions, and international organizations participated, and discussions were held on international cooperation in demining and reconstruction support. In his keynote speech, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, who spoke on behalf of the Japanese government, announced a policy for support for landmine countermeasures in Ukraine, centered on "human resource development," "technology enhancement," a smooth transition to the recovery and reconstruction process, and strengthening collaboration with third countries and international organizations. Prodrone is developing a landmine detection drone with support from UNIDO. In this presentation, it was reported that a sensor manufactured by the Ukrainian company Ailand Systems had arrived in Japan, and demonstration experiments are scheduled to begin soon, and the steady progress of the project was demonstrated through a mock-up exhibition.
