Unmanned Flying Robot Utilization Working Group Participated in an on-site briefing session at the Unmanned Flying Robot Demonstration Test Site

On August 3, 2015, the Aichi Robot Industry Cluster Promotion Council Unmanned Flying Robot Utilization Working Group held an on-site briefing session for the Unmanned Flying Robot Demonstration Experiment Site. In order to "promote the high performance and utilization of unmanned flying robots," these test sites will be provided in two locations, "Nagoya Konan 5th Ward" and "Next to the Yahagi River Purification Center," with the cooperation of site managers, so that members of the council can conduct tests. Our member PRODRONE also participated in the briefing session and also had the opportunity to test-flight the actual aircraft. Nagoya Konan 5th Ward is characterized by its vast grounds measuring 500 meters in length and width. The ground in many areas is well-maintained, making it an ideal place for testing autonomous navigation. Due to the location being surrounded by the sea, the wind was strong and the wind was blowing at a speed of 3 to 4 m/s on the day, but PRODRONE's 6-piece experimental aircraft "PD6Beta" was able to fly stably without being blown away. This unit is equipped with DJI's camera gimbal RONIN-M, so the test recorded footage was hardly affected by the wind. The other area adjacent to the Yahagi River Purification Center has strong sea breezes, but the wind is not accompanied by swells like in the mountains, so the PRODRONE aircraft is suitable for "anti-wind" experiments. In addition, there is a reservoir on the premises, and it is possible to conduct a variety of environmental experiments, such as test flights of aircraft that can be used underwater.
